Cowboys vs. Rattlers

Saturday was Dakota's scrimmage game against the Rattlers. If you can't tell by the title, Dakota's team is the Cowboy's and he's #10. He played an awesome game, as usual. I just love watching him play and I'm so proud of him.........not just on the football field either.
I still need a better lens, but some of the pictures I took, turned out so good; you can even see the grass splashing up like water. Speaking of water, it was SOOO hot and the sweat kept pooling in my eyes, so much so that I couldn't see half of what I was taking pictures of, not to mention that my sunglasses kept getting blurry. It was really, really hot, did I mention that? I can only imagine how hot those little guys were standing out there in that heat with pads and helments on, kinda makes you look forward to cooler weather. Not really, I HATE cold weather.......major reason I live in Florida (2nd in line to the Beaches)!
Anyway, Dakota's team won: Cowboys - 22; Rattlers - 0. Great sportsmanship on each side and I didn't hear any parents screaming, "take him out!", like I heard last year while standing on the opposing teams side taking photos. Seriously, is that any way for an adult to act? Ah, but I digress.
Even though it was hotter than all get out, even in the shade, it was a great way to spend the afternoon.
Here's a couple of my favorite photos; the rest I posted on FB, but the only way to see them is if you're a friend, or family; although Dakota or Misti may post some on their site for anyone to see. I won't because I don't have permission from anyone's parents to do so. Enjoy!
1 - Dakota offered to help the kid up who had just been tackled
2 - Dakota
3 - Some serious ball playing - hence the word, "scrimmage" (free-for-all)!!
4 - Dakota's first tackle
5 - Hum! Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
6 - In the zone......

THIS Makes Me Smile!

I just downloaded pictures from my little Sony camera and found this photo. I don't remember taking this, but I often let the kids play with the camera and take their own photos. It's nice to see things from their perspective now and then. This is likely the result of their snapping away.
I just LOVE this face and whenever I look at it, it just makes me smile!

Having FUN!

These two were having SO much fun playing in the dirt and making mud. You just don't see kids play like this anymore and it was fun just watching them enjoy themselves, being boys. Besides, who can resist those adorable muddy faces?! (Garnett and Danny / July 15, 2012)
